The Ethical AI Pledge — Before We Teach the Tools
Cheating on schoolwork is only the beginning. The same AI tools that can write an essay can also be turned toward far more harmful ends. Before we teach any tool that could be misused, every student must understand what ethical misuse looks like:
Fabricating photos, videos, or audio of real people without consent
Using AI to design, plan, or assist in physical harm
Generating content to intimidate, threaten, or surveil others
AI-generated scams, phishing, fake identities, or market manipulation
Mass-producing false news, fake reviews, or propaganda at scale
Scraping, profiling, or exposing personal data without consent
Pretending to be another person or institution using AI-generated content
Submitting AI-generated work as your own without disclosure
